Heavenly Father, your light shines through the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it (John 1:5). The presence of your light is invaluable in my life. Let it shine into every area of my life and through me, wherever I am. When you start something, you will always finish it. You never leave me halfway or turn your back on me. I pray that you shine your light on my path as I go on my daily journey in life. With your light shining in my life and your hope, joy, and strength sustaining me, it will be impossible for me to miss the way.
Sometimes I may not see what you are doing behind the scenes in my life, job, home, relationships, or in my nation. At such times, open the eyes of my spirit to see your presence and to recognize that you are working all things out for my good.
As a child of the Light, help me by your Spirit to stand against the darkness that may want to confront your light in me. Where I need healing, let your light shine through my illness and pain, bringing health and wholeness. Where I need a glimpse of hope, let your light shine through the dark clouds, restoring and bringing in a new dawn of your glory; a reminder of the rainbow of your promise to me.
Where I need encouragement, let your light shine through, destroying every yoke of oppression and depression. Let it refresh me and fill me with renewed joy, peace, hope, and love. Where I feel let down by others, let your light shine through my experiences of disappointment and betrayal. Let your light renew my heart and soul, and give me the strength to hold on to your strong arms, as you pull me out of the miry clay and set my feet on the rock (Psalm 40:2).
Heavenly Father, you are the Father of light, hope, joy, and mighty strength. All your ways are perfect, and there is no darkness in you. Always be the light in my life and the defender of my destiny in Jesus’ name.
