“But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” (Matt 13:16)
This Prayer is taken from the Devotional Book: 21 Destiny Prayers- Day 8
Heavenly Father, you are my Creator, and you know everything about me. You know me more than I know myself. I am not ashamed to call you, Father. You have brought me thus far in my life, and I want to give you all the glory for sustaining me and not allowing me to wander away from you.
I thank you for revealing to me that I am a spirit being that has a soul and lives in a body. Just as I have my physical senses, I also have my spiritual senses. You are a Spirit, and those who worship you must worship you in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
I ask that you touch the five senses of my spirit and open them up to revelations that comes directly from your heart. Help me to fully understand the language of the Spirit and to know when you are communicating with me. You said, “Call on me, and I will show you and tell you great and mighty things which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3). I ask Father that as I call unto you, you will reveal your Kingdom to me and my role as your priest and king.
I pray that I will not be controlled by my soul, but by my spirit, which receives rivers of living water directly from you. I pray that my flesh will not dominate or control my spirit, but all the senses of my spirit will be open to receive from you and communicate with you; whether I am awake or asleep.
I pray that I will not put you in a box or limit you in the different ways you speak to me. Your ways are higher than my ways, and your thoughts are higher than my thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9) help me to recognize that. When I don’t understand where you are leading me, help me to follow you, and to put my trust in you. I pray that I will be able to discern your voice from my voice and other voices around me. Help me to be spirit-conscious and not allow my flesh to dominate the ways I perceive situations or circumstances in my life or around me. Fill my spiritual abilities to taste, smell, touch, think, and feel. Also, fill the eyes, ears, emotions, and will of my spirit, with your fullness and the anointing of your Holy Spirit. Teach me to develop the senses of my spirit daily, so I can function efficiently in all the areas you are using me to fulfill your purpose.
When you put words in my spirit to taste, eat and speak them to others, help me to say precisely what you have planted in my spirit and not add or take away from your words, even when I feel others may not like to hear what you want me to say. Help me not to fear men above you, but to respect your instructions and obey you in humility. I pray that I will speak your words to others in love, compassion, and humility, and not be judgmental, condemning, or spiteful towards them because these are not the fruits of your Holy Spirit.
When I am talking to others (counseling/coaching my clients), help me to ask the right questions, and speak with wisdom. Help me to not only listen to their words but to hear what is going on from their feelings, experiences, and thoughts. Sometimes their words may not be enough to explain exactly how they feel, so I ask for the anointing to be able to see and understand their emotions and hear their needs with my spirit’s senses. Fill me with a sane mind and help me not to allow the toxic or negative circumstances in my environment to block my perception of who you are. I reject every influence of double-mindedness and confusion. Sanctify my thoughts and fill me with your anointed reasoning daily. Help me to be compassionate and show empathy towards others; to be non-judgmental, and to ask my (family/ friends/ colleagues/ clients/ others) whenever I hear something that needs more clarity. Lord Jesus, help me to always remember that You are the Teacher, Boss, Head Coach, and Head Counselor. Just as you were authentic, and you taught, counseled and coached the disciples successfully, help me to follow your example and to make you proud while helping others in their journey to the fulfillment of their destiny and their purpose in life.
